Family of Slain NDYM President Wants Govt. to Fish out Killers

The Family and community members of the slain President of the Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) and Treasurer of the Usor Community, Warri South Local government area, Comrade Ajulisan Akumagba, has called on the Delta state government and security agencies to fish out the killers of their bread winner.

The late Comrade Ajulisan Akumagba,

Comrade Akumagba was murdered in cold blood by yet-to-be-identified assailants at the notorious Morogun junction, back of Essi College, Iyara in Warri at about 8 pm on Sunday the 2nd of March, 2014.

According to the community spokesman, Billy Ekele, the late Akumagba was waylaid at the junction close to his house at around 8 pm and brutally stabbed in the heart where he bled to death.

Immediately the assailant discovered their victim was dead they escape through the dilapidated and unkempt Essi College school compound which has been a notorious hide out for criminals in the area.

Mr. Ekele who described late Akumagba as a very vibrant, promising, resourceful and hardworking  young man, said the death of Comrade Akumagba has left the family devastated, disorganized and in disarray as he was the bread winner of the family which include his aged mother, a wife and three children.

He said since the death of Akumagba, the family members and the community have been left empty as he represented a key factor in the community, just as he called on the police to quickly fish out the killers.

He said the family is yet to know the motive for the killing, saying they have left everything in the hands of security agencies and the state government.

Mr. Ekele also used the opportunity to call on the state government to come to the rescue of the community, as the dilapidated structures and unkempt nature of the Essi college compound was constituting a security risk to resident of the area.

He said the death of Comrade Akumagba, is the fourth in the series of the brutal and unsolved killings in the area in the last one year.
