DELTA POLICE CELEBRATE 2025 CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK WITH COMMUNITY OUTREACH, PRESENTATION OF SOUVENIRS

The Delta State Police Command joined the global celebration of the 2025 Customer Service Week with a statewide outreach aimed at strengthening police-community relations and appreciating the support of residents in the fight against crime.

The event, themed “Mission Possible,” held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, saw officers of the Command engaging directly with members of the public across various parts of the state. Souvenirs and gift items were distributed to road users, market women, parents, and youths in recognition of their partnership and cooperation with the police in ensuring a safer Delta.

The outreach extended to several towns including Warri, Ughelli, Sapele, and other communities, where police officers presented items such as books and educational materials to primary and secondary school students.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, described the gesture as part of the Command’s non-kinetic approach to crime prevention and control. He noted that the initiative underscores the importance of community partnership in modern policing, adding that it will be sustained to further bridge the gap between the police and the people.

According to him, the Nigeria Police sees the public as vital stakeholders — “customers” in the shared mission of protecting lives and property. He emphasized that the Command’s successes in crime fighting are largely due to the cooperation and trust built with the people of Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to continually improve service delivery, promote transparency, and deepen community trust.

The 2025 Customer Service Week celebration, observed globally, is dedicated to recognizing the importance of service and the people who deliver it. For the Delta State Police Command, it served as another opportunity to show appreciation to Deltans and reaffirm its dedication to safety, security, and collaboration.
