The Delta state government says it will support the Delta State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Grassroots Support Foundation (PDP-GSF) urging members of the foundation to understand their role as the SMART agenda evangelists, spreading the achievements of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s led administration across the State.

The State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Dr. Kingsley Emu who gave the charge during the inauguration ceremony of (PDP-GSF) held at the Chad-ef Hotel, Asaba; Thursday, November 30th, 2017 said with the inauguration the PDP will remain united and stronger in the state with future assurance for Delta politics.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Orientation, Hon. Barr. Eugene Uzum said governor Ifeanyi Okowa has touched the lives of Deltans positively through job and wealth creation and infrastructural development across the state worthy of informing the people at the grassroots.

He tasked members of the foundation to remain focus and committed while charging the group executives to remain humble and serve the group with their best abilities.

Earlier on, the chairman of the occasion, Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Political Matters, Hon. Chris Eture congratulated the new leadership of the foundation while reminding them the role the national body of the group played prior to the 2015 general elections.

Hon. Eture who prides the PDP heigher than any other political parties in the state with purpose driven and goals, enjoined them to preserve the fundamental objectives and directive principles of the body and follow themselves with transparency and integrity in order to run all inclusive leadership.

In the same vein, the Special Assistant to the state governor on Civic Engagement and Civil Society, Comrade Rex Anighoro in his key note presentation; “Thumbs up for Okowa 2019” said in all the nooks and crannies of the state, the governor’s presence is being felt by Deltans through massive human and capital development.

While tasking the group to always make adequate sacrifices with commitments to advance the aim of the foundation, Comrade Anighoro emphasized that members of the body need to act as ambassadors of the party and government.

The National Coordinator of the group (PDP-GSF) Comrade Richard Adaka who inaugurated the state new executives along side administration of oath of allegiances charged them to perform their functions honesty to the best of their abilities, faithfully and in accordance with the constitution and other existing rules of the foundation and in the interest of the integrity, solidarity, well being and prosperity of the PDP-GSF.

In his acceptance speech, the Delta state Co-ordinator of the PDP-GSF Comrade Precious Ejenake said the executive whom were drawn from the grassroots of the 25 local Government Areas of the state will continue to explain government programmes and policies to the people at the grassroots as well as give feedbacks to the party leaderships and government.

Comrade Ejenake who lauded Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party Olorogun Kingsley Esiso on the campaign rallies for the forth coming LGA elections, said with this rallies and massive campaign by the party across the state, Deltans should not be surprise when PDP sweeps the whole local government because while they are now working, other political parties are busy sleeping.
