The Delta State Indigene Muslims Association has honored four of their sons who have gained admission into the prestigious University of Saudi Arabia to become Islamic scholars.

According to the Alhaji Sadiq Oniyesaneyene Musa, the association thought it wise to honour the four scholars to serve as an encouragement to other indigent Muslims in the state who are thriving to become scholars in Islamic religion.

He said the four of them that were studying in the University of Saudi Arabia have proven to the world that there are Muslims who are indigenes of Delta that are doing well in Islam, noting that it is not only the Hausas in Delta that are Muslims.

He said with the feat achieved by their sons, they are hoping to win more converts to Islam, just as he said that Islam is not a religion of violent as people used to think.

One of the Students, Sheikh Abubakar Abdulmumini, who spoke to our correspondent, narrated their experience in Medina saying that their experience over there has given them deep insight into the ways and life of a true Muslim.

The Chief Imam of Naval Barrack Mosque, Abdulhamid Dauda, advice the students not to forget where they are coming from, just as he urged them to use the knowledge they are acquiring to win more converts in the Delta State to Islam.

The Chief Imam admonished all Muslims to pursue spiritual knowledge alongside conventional knowledge, adding that knowledge of the Koran is the key to successful life here on earth and beyond.

He also thank God for making brothers in Delta state to test what it feels like to go to Medina, saying that more opportunities awaits all Muslims who have the requisite requirements to get the scholarship that will make them achieve their dreams.

On his part, Alhaji Isa Taide Sipkami said; “this is the only time that Delta Muslims indigenes have been given such opportunity and we are very happy about it and that is why we are celebrating them.”

He also called on Deltans to live together as one saying that it is only through living in peace that the country will get to where it wants to get to.

The four students that were honored were; Sheikh Abdulganiyu Suleiman Agbroka, Sheikh Mohammed Yahaya Ogago, Abubakar Abdulmumini and Ahmed Akpoyomare.
