Delta State Ministry of Environment in collaboration with EFEDOR Services Limited is organising a two-day capacity building workshop for all Heads of Department, Environment in all the twenty-five Local Government Councils, Private Sector Participant(PSP) and other stakeholders in the state on Thursday, August 10 to Friday, August 11, 2017 in Effurun, near Warri.

According to the letter of invitation signed by Mrs. Vivian N. Okonji for the Commissioner for Environment, expected participants at the workshop includes but not limited to banks, hotels, water manufacturing/producing companies, handlers of industrial wastes, Private Sector Participants(PSP) as well as all HODs, Environment in the twenty-five Local Government Councils.

The statement added, “the workshop is carefully package to address solid waste collection and disposal in the state and to build the capacity of the Private Sector Participants (PSPs), banks, hotels, shopping malls and other stakeholders in new technological ways to recycle waste and earn resources which is in line with the present administration SMART AGENDA policy of wealth creation.”

Barr. John Nani, Commissioner for Environment would give a keynote address and declare the workshop open with Hon. Bight Edejeghwro, Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs as chairman of the day.
