All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor has extended political hands of fellowship to all aggrieved and disappointed members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

The APC candidate in a statement signed by the Director of Media and Political Communication, Otega4governor Campaign Organisation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said it has come to the notice of the APC leadership in Delta State that there are thousands of aggrieved members of PDP who are eager to defect to the APC but either do no know how to go about it or do not know who to contact for necessary arrangements for cross-over rallies.

Part of the statement reads: “It has come to the notice of our party leadership that due to visible lack of internal democracy in the ruling PDP, aggrieved members are very eager to join the alternative party, the APC. We have received a large member of them and our doors are still open to accommodate more.
We regard PDP defectors as valuable partners in the 2015 project CHANGE, which will ultimately end the party’s sixteen years of misrule in the state. “It is obvious that the division in Delta PDP is a fallout of the highly manipulated gubernatorial primary coupled with the wrong choice of a running mate for its flag bearer. It has snowballed into massive defection of its members to the APC. Contacts and Inter-Party Relations staff at the State Secretariat and Campaign office of the party have been directed to ensure that those defecting from PDP to APC are treated with maximum love and care upon arrival.
“We are delighted that Deltans are rising up to the occasion by joining hands with the progressives to re-build a state that has been mismanaged as a result of deliberate misrule and crude corruption perpetuated by insensitive leaders and political actors.
APC is optimistic that Delta State shall prosper again if Deltans take the bold step of ending the misrule of the PDP in 2015 hence defecting members will be integrated into the party structures for the forthcoming general elections and beyond.
