In a determined bid to digitize Delta State University, Abraka to meet up with world Class University standards, Prof. Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga, Vice Chancellor of the University has commissioned the DELSU Integrated Data Centre(DIDC).

Commissioning the poject as part of activities lined up for the 30th anniversary and 14th Convocation ceremony in Abraka, Delta State, Prof. Egwunyenga disclosed that the institution has advanced to implement online digitalisation of Transcripts and other database with a view to making it very easy for alumnus to assess their transcripts with ease.

The Vice Chancellor said that the edifice was constructed in line with the mission to actualize the motto of the University; “Knowledge, Character, Service” to all stakeholders particularly staff, Students, Alumni and in general the global world for excellence.

According to Prof. Egwunyenga, “we shall achieve this through consistent improvement, updating and developing DELSU DATABASE that shall possibly encompass every Unit, Department, Faculty and Sundry for e-management of Delta State University System via; Digitalisation of Transcript, Develop robust e-result engine, Digitalisation of Bursary Services”.

He added, “digitalisation of the University Registry, Train Staff on e-management Service, Develop robust e-memo pad for easy communication, Develop robust e-desk customer service system, Digitalise the University Library and Extend our technical support to other institutions that may consult DELSU for such service.”

Prof. Egwunyenga disclosed that the project was constructed by Staff of the University headed by Prof. F. I. Arunaye in collaboration with technicians from Lagos State University(LASU)noting that, the project would ensure ease of Digitalisation of database in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor lauded the zeal, dedication and commitment of the DELSU Integrated Data Centre(DIDC) team in ensuring that the project is actualized within the stipulated time.
