Delta Central Senatorial Seat: Group Lambast Keyamo over allege Endorsement
A Group known as Crusade for Democracy and Good Governance has lambasted Barr Festus Keyamo over his purported endorsement as Delta Central Senatorial candidate under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC by some group claiming to be from the three legacy parties of APC in Delta Central, urging the general public to ignore the endorsement.
In a statement duly signed by Chief Ejiro Okparerume after a crucial meeting held in Warri yesterday on the recent development, the group said nobody has the sole right to endorse an aspirant.
The statement read; “by the purported endorsement, it means that Keyamo is now the sole candidate of APC in the forthcoming senatorial by-election. They are not serious and should be ignored. All aspirants in the party must go through primaries and not group of persons endorsing an aspirant”.
The statement continued; “this endorsement is an insult on the leadership of the party. Keyamo should be called to order by the leaders of the party. He should not do anything that will affect the growth of the party. APC is intact in Delta State and it will continue to be so and we want to implore leaders of the party to take drastic action against Keyamo who plotted his own endorsement and those he used to execute this should not be spared”.
According to the group only members of the three legacy parties are eligible to contest in the forthcoming Delta Central Bye-election and Barrister Festus Keyamo is not a member of the legacy parties.
They added that “they have endorsed a wrong person; they have adopted a none member of legacy parties so their endorsement is null and void.”
Meanwhile, findings however revealed that the purported meeting for his endorsement was held at the home of Barr Festus Keyamo in, G.R.A. Effurun.
