Chairman of the Warri South council area, Hon (Dr) Micheal Tidi on Monday said keeping Warri clean remains one of his major priority.

Tidi, said this when the chairman of the Delta State Environmental Task Force, Hon Sylvester Oromoni and his team paid him a courtesy visit.

The Warri South council boss who was elated with the visit, lamented that duplicity of functions remains one of the bane of government in Nigeria.

He said he was delighted that the state task force had deemed it fit to pay him the visit and has promised to collaborate with the council to ensure that task ahead is successful.

Tidi said in carrying out its duty, the council will work within the legal frame of law so as not to trample on the rights of the good people of Warri South council.

“In carrying out this duty we are going to work within the ambit of the law. We will make sure that all the necessary notices are maybe available to all those whose illegal structures will be demolished before demolition will take place,'” Tidi said.

He also appealed for the state government to provide equipment for the council to make the job of beautifying Warri easier.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Delta State Environmental Task Force, Hon Sylvester Oromoni commended Tidi for his proactiveness, noting that they were ready to collaborate and work with Tidi in his quest to make Warri clean again.

Oromoni said the reason why the Task force decided to visit the Warri South council boss was to congratulate him on his emergence as the chairman of the council for a second term in the last elections.

He also said that they were at Tidi’s office to tell him about the Task force readiness to collaborate and work with the council’s task force on beautification set up by the council chairman.

“When I heard that the council has set up a task force on Beatification, I said to myself that we are going to support you.

“We will collaborate, synergize and partner with you to ensure that we all achieve our goals. LThe bottom line is that we are all working together to achieve the same results and by the grace of God we are all working together to achieve the same results,” Oromoni said.
