The chairman of Burutu local government council Area of Delta State, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, has sworn in Hon.Victor Awisi as the new Secretary to the Local Government.

Speaking in his office where the swearing-in ceremony took place, Clark urged the newly sworn-in SLG., to bear in mind that his appointment was essentially for the good people of Burutu Local Government Area, noting that every other thing is secondary.

Hon. Clark said that he need not remind him that his duties were numerous as they were both political and administrative, adding that he had no doubt in his mind that with dedication to duty, diligence and full cooperation of the Legislature, and staff of the Local Government Council, the SLG, will be able to perform his duties creditably.

Speaking further, the Local Government Chairman, advised Hon. Awisi to see himself as the link between the political class and the Civil Servants, just as he pleaded with the SLG, to jealously guard against giving wrong advice and making wrong decisions, as any mistake or wrong decision on his part can have far-reaching adverse implications on the process of the administration.

Hon.Chief Ebikeme Clark then advised the newly sworn-in Secretary to be humble and ready to learn on the job,asthat will enhance his general performance in the long run, urging him to work hand-in- hand especially with the Head of Personnel Management, Heads of Departments and other Principal Officers of the Local Government Council to achieve maximum results in the overall interest of the council.

Responding, The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon.Victor Awisi thanked the Local government Chairman for nominating him to the Delta State House of Assembly for confirmation, describing him as a people oriented Chairman and a man endowed with the seed of development and achievement.

The SLG.,equally thanked the Delta State House of Assembly and its leadership for his confirmation, expressing appreciation to his Ward Chairman Hon. Chief J T. Government, his son Hon.Dorotimi Government and Rt.Hon. Julius Pondi for their support, which facilitated his appointment, promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him as the Secretary to the Local Government.
