Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has arrived the oil city of Warri, Delta State for the final burial ceremony of late Pioneer Military Governor of the Midwest Region, Maj.Gen. David Akpode Ejoor Rtd.

The burial ceremony will begin with a Service of Songs at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral in Warri.

National Reformer learnt that the remains of the late Maj. Gen. Ejoor was deposited at the Veenell hospital morgue after it arrived from Lagos State in a military aircraft with tight security.

Dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to grace the Service of songs today Thursday by 4pm.

Late Major General Ejoor joined the Nigerian Army in 1953, he was among the first dozen of Nigerian Military Officer who trained at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. History has it that Captain David Ejoor commanded the Army Guards at the Flag- Raising on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st 1960.

The late Maj.Gen. Ejoor served in various roles in the Nigerian Army amongst others.

The burial ceremony will hold on Friday, May 3rd at Ovwor-Olomu Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

The late Maj.Gen. David Ejoor, who was the first indigenous Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy was born January 10, 1932 and passed on February 10, 2019.
