The Bishop of Anglican Communion, Oleh Diocese, Rt,Revd John Usiwoma Aruakpor has charged Christians all over the State and Nigeria at large to always give thanks to God even when they are depressed with troubles of life.
Rt, Revd Aruakpor gave this charge on Sunday during the All Saint Day celebration/Thanksgiving of All Saint Anglican Church Oleh, positing that, “A man of faith always give thanks to God not minding his predicament”.
The Bishop in his homily message titled; ” Next time”, with text from Luke 17:11-19, John 29 and 2Corinthians 2:14, said that, “As Christians, next time when the devil bring trouble, know that your trouble will bring glory to God who created you.”
Rt, Revd Aruakpor opined that, “Joseph worshiped God by not sleeping with the wife of his master and because of this act he was honoured by God. Sometimes when people look down on you, ignore them because when God has glorified you they will join you to give God praise.”
He recalled how All Saint was founded 26years ago, stressing that, ” All Saint Anglican Church Oleh, has produced 3bishops whom are; Rt, Revd Jonathan Edewor, Rt, Revd Edafe Emamezi and Rt, Revd John Usiwoma Aruakpor, whom were all priest before they were all ordained as Bishops.”
Bishop Aruakpor further enumerated some of the achievement of the Church since it was established, noting that, “All Saint Anglican Church is one of the strong financial pillars in Oleh Diocese. But when the devil rise the Church was plundered into debts.
“But today, we are grateful to God that God has used you and I to pay all the debts this Church was plundered into. I am just counting all this to let you know that God has been faithful to us all over the years.”
He however, urged Christians to use their life and character to praise God and always resist the devil next time when the devil come to them because there is grace ahead of it.
On his part, the Chairman of the Thanksgiving committee, High Chief Iduh Amadhe commended the priests in the way they handle the huge debts that bedeviled the Church in ensuring that the Church is debt free.
He also commended the Bishop, Rt, Revd John Usiwoma Aruakpor over the way he has been piloting the affairs of the Churches under Oleh Diocese praying God to grant him more wisdom.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of cash prizes to the first, second, third and fourth positions in the Thanksgiving dancing competition which was won by All Saint women, men, girls, boys and the children
