Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri

The Delta State Governorship aspirant in the 2015 Governorship election has posited that the enormous poverty in Nigeria which has been caused by previous regimes which the present President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is addressinyg was caused by lack of inclusiveness in Governance. Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri made this known to the press during a visit to Isoko nation, where a sunshine group adopted him as their sole candidate for the 2015 Governorship race at Irri in Isoko South L.G.A Delta State.

According to Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri, “I am not a stranger to poverty, I have tasted it because I was born and brought up in a poverty stricken society. As a matter of fact, if not for a lady friend who assisted me with N5, 000 when I was sick with typhoid fever, I wouldn’t have been here to address you today”. Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri said, he is not saying that Nigeria is a poor country especially since Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan took over the reins of power but that if successive Governments have not excluded certain category of persons, Nigeria would have been a lot better.

 

He posited that Nigeria is blessed with natural resources particularly Delta State which is one of the state that have the highest allocation. Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri promised to follow the footsteps of his successor who has successfully implemented his 3 point agenda. He assured Deltans that when he comes into Government House Asaba, the issue of marginalization will be a thing of the past. Insisting that he will embark on a major unification programme where if a child dies in Isoko, the Ijaws should see it as one of their children, if a child a dies in Urhobo land the Anioma should see it as their loss and vice versa. He said unity is the only weapon that will move Delta State that is richly blessed with natural resources to a greater height.

 

Earlier on Dr. Andrew Foubiri Warri and his political faithful across Isoko land accompanied him to pay his last respect to Late High Chief Abel Ubeku onetime Social Democratic Party (SDP) Presidential Candidate and first African Managing Director of Guinness at Araya-Aviara Isoko South L.G.A, Delta State.
