PFN Calls On Fed. Govt. To Swiftly Intervene In Mass Killings Of Christians

Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has called on the federal government of Nigeria to swiftly intervene in the mass killings of Nigerians, especially Christians rather than rhetorics.
This call was made by Bishop Wale Oke, President, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria at the conclusion of it’s three days national fasting and prayer spiritual exercise in Warri, he said that the programme is in response to the on going killings of Nigerians by insurgents and bandits.
Bishop Wale Oke who was represented by Bishop Willie Abbos, chairman , PFN, Delta State chapter said that the spiritual exercise featured clergymen from Pentecostal denominations across the State.
The gathering is a meeting of Ministers from different denominations as the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN concludes its Three days fasting and prayer for the nation,
The clergy men present took turns to seek God’s face, His forgiveness and mercies over the wanton destruction and extra judicial killing noting that such ugly tends threatening the existence of Nigeria must come to an end.
Bishop Wale Oke condemned in very strong terms the wanton killings and destructions going on across the country.
He called on the government to fulfill it social and legal obligations to Nigerians by protecting everyone irrespective of religious affiliations as the blood of innocent lives lost to insurgency cries for justice.
According to him, “we call on the Federal Government to fulfil its constitutional and moral duty
of protecting every citizen of Nigeria irrespective of tribe or religion, so that we can truly be a nation where no one is oppressed.
“This is the first responsibility of governance. We urge our government to seek for help and
partnership from the international community before it is too late.
We call on the church in Nigeria to stand together in unity and rise against the evil ravaging parts of the country.”
Other clergymen who spoke including Pastor Olumide, Regional Overseer, Region 23, his wife, Rev. Triumph Otaoghene, PFN Province 6 Chairman, Rev. Mrs. Willie Abbos, wife of the State Chairman of PFNand Archbishop Victor Arikoro
decried the situation of Nigeria insisting for urgent response to the insecurity ravaging the socio- economic lives of ordinary Nigerians.
Expressing optimism in their belief that the prayer of the righteous would yield positive results, they called on all, especially Christians all over the world to continue to stand in the gap of prayers for the nation Nigeria until the ugly trends are eliminated.
The Christian body later demonstrated their griefs through a peaceful protests with placards bearing inscriptions against insecurity and calling for a stop to wanton destruction of lives and properties to insurgency and terrorism.
