Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has disclosed that corps members contribution to the development to rural communities has been tremendous adding that their efforts have impacted positively on the well-being of the rural communities where they serve in the state.

The state governor disclose this yesterday while congratulating the A total of 3, 269 Batch ‘C’ members of the National Youth Service Corps who serve in Delta State after compulsory one year national service for the country at a passing out  ceremony held at Canotaph, Asaba.

Represented by his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, the governor noted that as the corps members depart to the wider society full of challenges and opportunities, the knowledge,  experience and training acquired will equip them adequately for unique roles in the future.

According to him, the level of commitment and patriotism demostrated by the corps members during the course of national assignment will no doubt guarantee the nation for a better tomorrow.

He commended the members for their drive and determination, dedication to duty and hard work as well as their selfless service to the nation, adding that Management of NYSC deserve special commendation for seeking ways of more effectively realinsing the objectives of the scheme.

The governor noted that the on-going NYSC Health initiative for Rural Dwellers that brought healthcare delivery to the door steps of the various communities has further demonstrated the relevance of the scheme and assured that government will lend every support to ensure its sustainability.

Governor Okowa,  enjoined the out going corps members to have faith and ensure that they serve their country to the best of their ability in wherever positions they find themselves in future endeavour.

The NYSC passing ceremony also witnesses the presentation Governor’s Award to Dr. Njoku Ogechi from Imo state as the best corps member of the 2014 Batch ‘C’ service year.
