26th Coronation of Olu of Warri ends with thanksgiving service, Pastor Oritsejafor urged Itsekiris to shun worship of fake Gods

The week long programme marking the 26th coronation anniversary of Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, capped yesterday with a special thanksgiving service at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Olu Palace, Warri, just as Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor called on sons and daughters of Itsekiri nation to shun the worship of fake gods.
Our correspondent reports that guest Minister of the Service, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor centered his message on power of alters and sacrifices as well as their place in the growth and development of any nation..
Pastor Oritsejafor whose sermon was titled the “Power of Alters, held that the alter one worships can either make one or mar him.
He noted that those who worshipped in the alters of God and idols at the same time were only making fools of themselves.
The CAN President advised the Itsekiri nation to offer the right sacrifices to God, their creator, adding; “We should do the right things to our God to attract his love and mercy to us.”
Our correspondent reports that the Special Thanksgiving Service attracted people from all walks of life with the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Mr.Emma Okotie-Eboh, describing the 26th coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri as a huge success.
Meanwhile, the Delta State beyond oil vision of the State Government is no longer a mirage. It is gradually becoming a necessity if deliberate steps must be taken to cope with future challenges of food and job security.
Delivering the lecture titled “Iwere land of Tomorrow: Reviving Agricultural Production for food security and Economic Growth” Mr. Julius Oritsejafor while emphasizing the place of agricultural production in any nation to national growth and development reiterated the slogan that “No Farmer No Nation.”
Mr. Oritsejafor and the other speakers including the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Misan Uku-Beyinje, the Chairman of DESOPADED, Mr. Oritsua Kpogho, the Federal Director in charge of Agriculture, Delta State, Mr. Felix Kelis and Pa Mark Eye-Oyibo were unanimous on the need to diversify the economy of Iweere land and the nation at large as well as go back to the days of meaningful practices.
While Dr. Oritsejafor recalled the green days of agricultural production in Iwere land and the need to invest more in agriculture, the Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture, Misan Uku-Beyinje used the opportunity to highlight what the state government has done in the area of agriculture and those in the pipeline.
The DESOPADEC Boss, Mr. Kpogho, who believed that the lecture is timely, was of the opinion that the lecture and deliberations will not only be of immense use to the Itsekiri nation but also useful to the community that is currently working out modalities on agricultural programme.
Pa Mark Eye-Oyibo said the journey to achieving all success of the Iwere land beyond oil vision must begin with service of sensitization, re-orientation and training.
