Thirty two (32) students of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have bagged first class degrees in various disciplines within the College of Science as well as the College of Technology.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Akii Ibhadode, FAS, disclosed this at a pre-convocation press briefing.

He explained that of the 735 graduating students, “642 bagged the first degree while 93 are in the Post-Graduate Diploma category” They will be release to the world during its forth coming Convocation Ceremony.

“It suffices to announce to you that of the 642, 32 bagged First Class. Our commitment to training the best industry-ready manpower is absolutely manifest in the quality of our products which will be on the shelves from Saturday, April 27, 2019 when we shall finally release them to the world,” Prof. Ibhadode stated.

According to him, “We have indeed kept faith with our mandate as research and innovation have propelled us to the global arena. This has also earned us good footing in agency and organizational ratings.”

Meanwhile, on the 26th day of April, 2019; Commissioning of TETFUND-Sponsored Twin-250 Capacity Lecture Theatre/Other Projects and Convocation Lecture titled “The Role of University of Petroleum in Bridging the Gap between Industry and the Academia for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development by Dr. Baru Maikanti, Group Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)”
