MPV CANVASSES SUPPORT FOR JONATHAN, OKOWA, PDP CANDIDATES

By Harriet Anetor

Macaulay Political Vanguard (MPV) has urged the people of Nigeria to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan and Deltans to vote en masse for the governorship candidate Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and other candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming election.

The group, which made this call through its Coordinator General and Vice Chairman, Comr. Harry Ujiro Okoro, noted that, MPV among other groups of Comr. Ovuzourie Macaulay is working in line with the ideologies of PDP and the interest of their principal, emphasizing that, what Nigerians and Deltans including the Isoko People needed at this critical period of the nation’s socio-political history is PDP. “The party is filled with capable hands that have a clear understanding of the needs and aspiration of the people.” he said

He explained that, “the onerous task of leading a Nation like Nigeria and a State like Delta with its ethnic diversity and political sophistication requires men of experience, humility and grassroots mobilizers like President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who are sincerely ready to give the masses the much needed leadership”

MVP further drummed support for Senator James Manager, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor Okuweh and Hon. Barr. Tim Kome Owhefere; while urging the electorates to vote PDP at all levels for continuity and democratic gains.

Commenting on controversial issues trailing the yet to be conducted general elections, Okoro posited that, the Card Reader; naturally is not a threat and it is not out of place just as he maintained that, the shift in the polls has helped a large numbers of voters acquire their PVC whom he said would have been disenfranchise if the elections had been conducted in February adding that the use of military personnel in the elections will greatly guarantee security. He therefore advised youths to be in the vanguard of peace and eschew violence of any form, before, during and after the elections.

The coordinator however commended Comr. Ovuzourie Macaulay over his contribution to the growth and development of Delta State since 1999 till date adding that, “his role in the running of government in the state is worthy of acknowledgement.”
