Late Ewherido: More reactions continue to pour in
The member representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Constituency, Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro has expressed shock over the sudden death of Senator Pius Ewherido.
She said; “Senator Pius Akpo Ewherido to my conviction, I describe him as “The Politician Senator” that Urhobo has ever produced. He was an experienced Law Maker who sponsored and supported people’s oriented bills and motions. I am particularly more pained when I assume how his wife and little children will miss him. They will miss him, they will miss him. I pray God Almighty to give them the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
Reacting to the death of the Senator, Chief Ogboru told our correspondent on phone from Lagos that; “Today, I received the sad news of the death of Senator Ewherido as a rude shock. It is a painful death. This is a very sad and painful loss. The death of Senator Ewherido is a big blow to the Urhobo nation; the DPP family, Delta State and the country in general.”
Chief Ogboru added that; “We all have our various calculations but the death of Senator Ewherido was not in the card at all. I want to use this medium to express my deep condolences to the family of late Senator Ewherido; they should take heart.”
The member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, has described as sad and deeply shocking the sudden death of Senator Pius Ewherido , Senator representing Delta central at the National Assembly.
In a statement, Hon Elumelu described Late Senator Ewherido as a highly distinguished senator who has contributed immensely to the development of Delta state through the sponsorship of people oriented bills that have impacted positively on the lives of Deltans and Nigerians in general.
The statement adds that as a lawmaker at the Delta State House of Assembly, the late Senator added color and robustness to debates that endeared him to the heart of many people and also paved way for even and meaningful development across the state.
The statement further described late Senator Ewherido as a complete gentleman, a vibrant politician and a team player, who will not only be missed by his family and Deltans but also his colleagues at the National Assembly.
It prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Chief Bobson Gbinije, National Co-ordinator, of Mandate Against Poverty (MAP), Warri reacted this way; “Pius Ewherido’s demise “broken is Apollo’s Bow, the only bow that could grow fully straight”. What a horrific blow to the Urhobo Nation, Delta State, Pantheon of Democracy, 2015 and the Nigerian Nation. What an insupportable loss? But, we solace in the fact that, he came, he saw and he conquered (Vini, Vedi, Veci). Fare thee well O’ Good One!”
On his part, Human Rights activist, Barrister Oghenejabor Ikimi said; “I am deeply saddened over the sudden demise of late Senator Pius Akpo Ehwerido. The last time we met was when he invited me to Abuja for the public presentation of his sponsored bill on corporate manslaughter he never exhibited an sign of illness. His death no doubt has further confirmed my fears that the earth and its contents are subject to decay. May the soul of the late Senator Pius Akpo Ehwerido rest in perfect peace and may God grant his immediate family the courage to bear this great loss.”
