GBARAMATU MONARCH IS DEAD
The people of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State have been thrown into mourning following the joining of their ancestors by their traditional ruler, HRM, Ogeh-Gbaraun III, DSP Godwin K. Bebenimibo, (Rtd), JP, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Meanwhile the Traditional Council of Chiefs of Gbaramatu Kingdom have approved the appointment of Chief Patani T. Heavens as Regent of the Kingdom who will be holding brief until the coronation of a new king shortly.
According to a press statement signed by Chief Alfred M. Bubor, the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, the burial programm approved by the Traditional Council of Chiefs stated that the burial which will last for seven days will begin from Monday 9th December to 15 December 2013.
The statement reads; “Condolence registers have been opened in the palace of the traditional ruler at the traditional Headquarters of the Kingdom, Oporoza town and the headquarters of the Warri South West L.G.A., Ogbe-Ijoh.”
According to the statement, activities lined up for the seven days burial includes; payment of condolence visits, daily burial rites and cultural displays.
