Woman Dies In Hands of Her Kidnappers…As Another Woman Escapes From Her Abductors

A staff of the Delta Printing and Publishing Company Limited (DPPCL), publishers of THE POINTER titles, Mrs. Patricia Amitaye has died in the hands of Kidnappers, just as a house wife Mrs. Caro Botosan has escaped from her captors after spending a gruesome nine days in their den at Usie-ffurun forest in Ughelli South Councilarea of Delta state.

Mrs. Amitaye, mother of three, workd in the Commercial Department in the Warri Bureau of THE POINTER. It was gathered that she was kidnapped along the Eku raod in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State on her way from Ekuto Warri.

According to a dependable source close to thefamily, she was being driven in a Hilux van when they were attacked by five gunmen.

It was learnt that her captors demanded for money, but when she had no money to offer them on the spot, she was dragged away into the bush, leaving her driver behind. The driver, was said to later raised alarm and also made contacts with her husband and other relations. It was further learnt that when the bush was later combed, they found her lifeless body.

Our source said; “Patricia has been sick, but she was now getting better before this unfortunate incident of the black Wednesday.I am sure that her blood pressure rose from the shock and the hard dragging into the bush by the kidnappers when she died as she was being dragged, her captors abandoned her and ran away. Her lifeless body was recovered later inthe bush, whe die in pains.”

Sympathizers were seen yesterday discussing the sad news at the home of the deceased. Her husband who could not speak was surrounded by friends, colleagues and relations.

Meanwhile, after spendinga gruesome nine days in kidnappers den at Usie-ffurun forest in Ughelli SouthCouncil area of Delta state, Mrs. Caro Botosan finally escaped to safety around7: am yesterday morning and found her way to Usie-effurun/Orhughworhum junctionfrom where she put a call across to her husband through a Good Samaritan.

The visibly frightened woman told our correspodentthat her abductors left her alone to herself believing that with her hands and legs chained together she can never escaped, saying that since she knew where they usually kept the key to the padlock she struggled to the point, got the key and unlocked the padlock and walked out of the bush to safety.

According to hisjubilant husband, Mr. Isaac Botosan, his wife, on getting into town approacheda woman and explained her predicament pleading with her to call her husbandmobile phone number which she gladly oblige describing her location atOrhughworhum .

Mr. Botosan then stormed the location with armed Policemen to pick her up and drove straight home to their residence in Warri to the waiting hands of a jubilant Okere community where dancing and praises to Almighty God for her freedom rented the atmosphere immediately by both the old and young, including friends and well wishers.

It would be recalled that a gang of four armed men stormed the Okere community last Wednesday, April15, 2015 and abducted Mrs. Botosan taking her to an unknown destination, but one member of the gang was caught by the community youths while trying to escape with their Toyota Venta car and handed over to the police.

The arrested kidnapper then led police anti-kidnap crack team to the home of their leader simply identified as “Biggy” at Agbarho community where some arrest were made but the three fleeing hoodlums are still at large
