From Francis Sadhere, Warri
The Scribe of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Michael Tidi, Esq., has congratulated Professor Musibau Babatunde on his appointment as Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG) by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Dr. Tidi said the appointment reflects Governor Makinde’s deliberate strategy of strengthening governance through the selection of experienced, competent and results-driven individuals into key positions.
In a congratulatory message issued from Canada, where he is currently on holiday, the Delta PDP scribe noted that Professor Babatunde has been a long-standing member of Governor Makinde’s policy and advisory team, playing a critical role in the formulation of economic policies that have helped shape the administration’s vision and development agenda.
According to him, the new SSG has distinguished himself in public service, having served effectively as Economic Adviser to the Governor before his appointment as Commissioner for Budget, positions in which he demonstrated intellectual depth, professionalism and commitment to public service.
Dr. Tidi described Babatunde’s elevation to the position of Secretary to the State Government as a well-deserved recognition of his years of dedication, loyalty and outstanding contributions to governance in Oyo State.
He also recalled his personal academic relationship with the appointee, noting that he was a doctoral student under Professor Babatunde’s supervision at the University of Ibadan, a period during which he witnessed firsthand his mentor’s intellectual rigor and leadership qualities.
“There is no better reward for hard work and steadfast service than what Governor Seyi Makinde has done by appointing Professor Babatunde as Secretary to the State Government. I congratulate him and wish him every success in his new assignment,” Dr. Tidi said.
He expressed confidence that Professor Babatunde would bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in supporting Governor Makinde’s administration and advancing the development of Oyo State.
