The  Vice Chancellor University of Benin, Prof. Faraday Orumwense has
advocated for more collaboration between the University and members of
the Edo State Journalists to ensure mutual benefits among them.

The call was made in a media parley held at the Banquet Hall,of the
Ugbowo Campus Benin City to further strengthened the already existing
cordial relationship between its members.

Prof. Orumwense noted with delight the support of the newsmen in his
administrative strides since assumption of office, while calling for
more to build on existing trust.

“I wish to say here we are in indeed delighted at your presence and
also use this medium to publicly acknowledge with thanks the support
this administration has received from the press. Please be assured
that we shall continue to maintain this existing cordial
relationship”, he emphasised.

The University Don however, harp on enthronement of peace, staff
welfare, and researches as part of the significant progress in diverse
area his administration has achieved; adding that, with more
cooperation from stakeholders, the management will definitely achieve
more as the year progresses.

In similar vein, the NUJ Chairman, Sir Roland Osakwe expresses his
appreciation on behalf of the practicing journalists in the state to
the university management while assuring a better reportage in their
civic responsibility from its members.
