New Leadership Takes the Helm in Afiesere Community
The Afiesere Community has welcomed its new President General, Mr. Luke Umukoro, in a heartfelt ceremony held at the community town hall on Monday.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Umukoro expressed deep gratitude for the community’s trust and outlined his commitment to steering Afiesere towards a prosperous future.
Addressing a crowd of community members, invited guests, and press representatives, Mr. Umukoro paid tribute to his predecessor, Amb. Richard Oborikpo Ovweghrederohwo, and his executive committee for their contributions.
He emphasized his intention to build on the achievements of the past administration.
Mr. Umukoro outlined his vision for the community, focusing on several key areas which include; Listening to Concerns and Ideas by being receptive to the community’s input and suggestions.
On fostering unity and inclusivity, Umukoro said his administration aims to strengthen communal bonds and ensure that all voices are heard.
On promoting economic empowerment and social welfare, the new President General said he plans to implement initiatives that will enhance the economic and social well-being of Afiesere’s residents.
Umukoro added that to enhance infrastructure and Services in the community, improving the community’s infrastructure and services will be a priority.
Mr. Umukoro called upon all members to actively participate in this collective journey, volunteer their skills, and hold his administration accountable.
He concluded his speech with a hopeful vision for Afiesere as a beacon of hope, prosperity, and harmony.
High point is the occasion was when the the Director-General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC), Isaac Akpoveta, presented Mr. Luke Umukoro, with a Health Ambassador award for his contribution to healthcare in his community. Mr Umukoro paid the health insurance of 100 indigents of Afiesere community.
The ceremony ended with a heartfelt wishes for the community’s continued growth and success, as Mr. Umukoro invoked a blessing for the future of Afiesere.
