Uduaghan Advocates Robust Relationship between Arms of Government

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has called for robust relationship amongst the three arms of government so as to ensure good governance in the country.
Governor Uduaghan who made this call at a State Banquet/ Dinner for two retired Chief Judges of the State, Hon. Justices (Mrs.) Roseline Bozimo and Abiodun Smith respectively, said that only a robust relationship among the Executive, Judiciary and Legislature would deepen democracy and ensure good governance in the country.
According to him, “the Executive must have a robust relationship with the judiciary and the legislative arms so as to deepen our democracy, we have good relationship with judiciary in Delta State. As a government, we do not interfere with the affairs of the judiciary especially with their judgments, we allow the judges to give their judgments without interference, they know their onions and have taken the state judiciary to enviable heights in the country”
“They also allow us the Executive to do our work without interference, without given frivolous court injunctions which hamper the work of government”, he added.
Dr. Uduaghan commended the retired Chief Judges for their services, diligence and hard work and contributions to the dispensation of justice in the state and country which have made the judiciary more efficient.
He disclosed that the Nigeria Judicial Council has approved the appointment of Justice Marshal Umukoro as Chief Judge of the State and a letter would soon be forward to the House of Assembly for final approval.
In their separate responses, Hon. Justices Roseline Bozimo and Abiodun Smith thanked Dr. Uduaghan for his support, cooperation and non-interference with the affairs of the Judiciary which enabled them to succeed as Chief Judges.
They observed that the state has one of the best crop of judicial officers in the country and urged their colleagues to continue to uphold the ideals of justice in the state
