Millions lost as fire gut a shop in Ozoro

A shop dealing in fabrics in a building at Ozoro, headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Council, Delta State, got burnt to the extent that every item in the shops razed.
The fire, which reportedly started in the early hours of Thursday, engulfed the entire shop in a storey building situated along Idheze Road, Erovie Ozoro belonging to Mrs Uzuzomaro Olize, an indigene of Ozoro Kingdom, reducing the roof of the building, the shop and its contents to rubble.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno had not been ascertained.
Eyewitnesses said the blaze spread rapidly, leaving no opportunity to salvage some fabrics or sewing machines items from the fabrics store.
A closed relative of the shop owner who spoke with this reporter, Comrade Onakome Michael, confirmed that nothing was recovered from the shop noting that the entire structure was completely razed.
He appealed to the Delta State Government, as well as well-meaning individuals and organizations, to urgently come to the aid of Mrs Uzuzomaro Olize with support that would enable her rebuild her business.
