A frontline socio political group and an umbrella organisation for all Akwa Ibom indigenes residing in Delta State, Akwa Ibom United Movement (Akium), have congratulated Hon. Dr. Henry Sakpra on his appointment as Commissioner for Special Duties, Governor’s Officer.
The group in a statement, jointly signed by her National President, Hon Jefferson, the State Co-ordinator Pastor (Comr.) Monday Udoh and State Secretary, Idongesit Udofia (Akparawa) stated that, Hon Sakpra is a quintessential, goal oriented administrator who believes in bringing quality to leadership.
The group who nicknamed Hon Henry Sapkra as a political Abai (political pillar) in Udu, testified that his sterling leadership qualities were first noticed far back when he was a local Government Chairman.
Continuing, the statement read “Many definitions have been given to the word leadership, especially when it involves governance at any level. Some school of thought defines good leadership as a force that commands absolute positive influence that brings about good result, development and emancipation of all, while political theory described good leadership as visionary, transparency, assessable, pragmatic and goal oriented. It is of no doubt that all these qualities are found in Hon. Sakpra.
Adding that, “Though the responsibility and roles of a leader tends to be different, a good leader needs to be seen as part of a team working hard towards achieving a set goal. Hon. Henry Sakpra is one man who would not be afraid to roll up his sleeves and get dirty in order to lead and set direction with the interest of his subjects at heart, being trusted and known as an honest man with proven integrity.
The group prayed God to continue to endow the commissioner with wisdom, but called on Deltans to throw their weight behind Hon. Sakpra so as to enable him deliver, rather than resort to unnecessary litigations and blackmails.
