Sohworuvwe commiserates with Okere-Urhobo kingdom over demise of monarch

…describes his reign as remarkable, memorial

Members of Sohworuvwe Ruling House( Oki family)of Okere-Urhobo kingdom in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta, on Tuesday, commiserated with the Otota, the Queen, Chiefs and people of Okere-Urhobo kingdom over the demise of their monarch, HRM, Sir Emmanuel Ono Okumagba JP, Okumagba II, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom.

Chief Jasper Oki, who read the condolence letter signed by Chief Edward Nikagbatse-Oki, on behalf of the Sohworuvwe Ruling House (Oki Family) noted that the late monarch had a short but remarkable reign.

He said that the late Okumagba II, was known for his peaceful disposition to issues that affected his people, adding that his search for peace was one of his greatest achievements on earth.

Chief Nikagbatse-Oki said that the reign of the late monarch of Okere-Urhobo kingdom was dedicated to the harmony, peace and prosperity of his people.

He also described the late monarch as a great philanthropist who was extremely generous even at the expense of his personal comfort.

The Oki family said that under the reign of late Okumagba II, they were honoured with key Chieftaincy titles in Okere-Urhobo kingdom.

According to Sohworuvwe Ruling House, “the late king, while alive, was known for his peaceful disposition to issues that affected his people. He was a well bred bureaucratic who rose to the crest of his profession. He was a seasoned administrator and politician before ascension to the throne.”

Responding on behalf of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Chief Barr Emmanuel Omovie, the Otota R’Ovie and Usiavwe of Okere-Urhobo kingdom expressed the Kingdoms’ appreciation to
kits and kins from the Oki family for the visit, praying that the visit will strengthen their bond and brotherly relationship that would move the kingdom to greater heights.
