RECTOR TASKED STUDENTS ON GOOD BEHAVIOUR AS DSPZ MATRICULATES

The Rector of Delta State Polytechnic , Ozoro, Dr. Jacob Snap Oboreh has tasked students of the polytechnic on good behaviour and be committed to the constituted authority and to abide by the polytechnic code of conduct.
Dr. Oboreh gave this charged during the 13th matriculation of the ceremony of the polytechnic, held over the weekend at the events/convocation arena, noting that, matriculation ceremony in any tertiary institution is not a mere annual ritual of the academia but a standard requirement and tradition for any would-be-scholar to subscribe to the matriculation Oath as well as to be formally admitted as bonafide students of the institution.
‘’This great polytechnic is characterized with certain unique and sterling qualities which have become the core values and essence of the polytechnic. Our vision is to become a world class technological institution where teaching, learning and research are directed towards meeting the new challenges of the economic, social and technological development of our country’’ he said.
The Rector indicated that in his address at the occasion that 28 completed projects, while 11 are ongoing, adding that the determination to fund the physical projects with internally generated revenue within three years of his administration has been his major focus.
According to him, the institution has been able to meet up even beyond the stipulated standard, the physical development and expansion in academic programmes emphasizing that presently, the polytechnic have five schools, eighteen departments and a total of twenty-five programmes.
The Rector however congratulates the students with addendum call on the students to shun all act of misconduct which have been clearly indicated in the student’s handbook and apply themselves diligently to their studies and make self discipline their watchword.
