POLITICAL GROUP PUT SMILES ON FACES OF PEOPLE IN DELTA

A socio-political pressure group committed to Okowa for second term as well as victory for all other PDP candidates has put smiles on the faces of hundreds of women, youths and others in Delta State.The group known, Delta Mega Forum(D. M. F.)which held its Delta Central meeting recently in Agbarho, used the occasion to show love to several persons with the distribution of rice and cash to them.In his opening address, Hon. Henry Tietie, national chairman, Delta Mega Forum(D. M. F.)recalled that the Forum which was formed sometime in 2014 is a socio-political forum with the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)in focus.Hon. Tietie further disclosed that the Forum is poised to ensuring that Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa Okowa is returned for a second term ias governor of Delta State come 2019, adding, “if Okowa wins, then we win.”He called on all to go out to preach the gospel of Okowa for second tenure, stressing that if every PDP member goes out to bring one person each to vote for Senator Okowa, then the governor has won.According to Hon. Tietie, it is time for the people to use their Personal Voter Cards (PVC)to demonstrate their commitment to Gov Okowa and the party, he urged them to go out and convince and canvass for votes for all PDP candidates.The national chairman of Delta Mega Forum enumerated the good works of Gov. Okowa in the state, including the resuscitation of vocational education, the various entrepreneurial and skill acquisition programmes, road networks, employment, schools renovations, health facilities across the state among others, saying that Dr. Okowa deserves a second tenure.He also called on the people to work hard to deliver one of the Forum’s patron, Hon. Ben Rolland’s Igbakpa, who is the PDP House of Reps candidate for Ethiope Federal Constituency.Some of the members who contributed to the discussion urged everyone to vote for PDP all the way so that they can be recognized and rewarded when the time comes.Highpoint of the occasion was the distribution of bags of rice and cash to both members and others who attended the meeting.Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the meeting one of the beneficiary of the empowerment, Mrs. Iboje Alice from Kokori, Ethiope East Local Government Area who was visibly elated expressed her appreciation to the leadership of the Forum, saying that “they have tried so much. They did not discriminate between old members and the new ones. Everybody that came benefitted.”Mrs.Iboje vowed to mobilize people to vote for PDP, adding that “I’m convinced if Okowa and Ben Igbakpa wins, the Forum will do more for us.”Also commenting on the outcome of the meeting, Mr. Afasare Sunny Oghenero from Okpara who attended the Forum’s meeting for the first time said he has been a PDP chieftain, adding that the vision of the group is in tandem with his ideology, adding that the return of Dr. Okowa for a second term as governor and Ben Igbakpa for House of Reps were also his vision.He expressed surprise over the empowerment given by the Forum, saying, “I’m convinced the leadership of the Forum will not ‘chop alone’ “.Mr. Afasare promised to go home to spread the gospel of Okowa for 2019.Present at the meeting were the exco of the forum, Chief Henry Tietie (Chairman), Chief Taiwo Emokiniovo (Publicity Secretary ), Comrade Grace Okperigho (Women Leader), Comrade Onotasamiderhi (Secretary), Pastor Batholomew Anighoro (Asst Secretary)and Mr. Eugene Ofa.Others include several members of the Forum and new members who joined the group.
