Refinery Road to be Commissioned in April

The General Manager of ARC Marine & Civil Contractors Limited, Engr. Habib Shammout has promised that the Refinery Road project, which his company is handling, will be commissioned in April, 2014.
Speaking to National Reformer at his Warri Office, Engr. Shammout said all was set for the completion of the road, adding that the second layer of asphalt is being poured on the road.
“The Road is 100 percent complete and we are putting the second layer of Asphalt. We have already started that at the beginning of this year and we are expecting it to be completed at the end of March 2014. So we hope that at the beginning of April we are going to commission the road,” he said.
He said the company had no reason whatsoever, not to complete the project since all they needed for the job has been provided for.
The GM also assured the people of Warri that once the road is completed the road will be one of the best roads in the area as it will reduce traffic congestion to the barest minimum.
Engr. Shammout also revealed that the traffic light that would be installed on the road had already been ordered for from abroad, adding that the company was poised to construct the best road for the people of the area.
He said; “as you can see the road is a major road in Warri and by the time we are finished with the road it is going to solve traffic congestion that used to be there. As for the street lights we have placed a request for it and they will be here any moment soon and we hope that before the end of April we will have fixed them. We just hope that they will deliver it on time.”
He said complain about few public utilities, including an MTN mast still obstructing construction works, especially along the NNPC Housing Estate Road and called for their immediate removal.
He said; ‘The dualization of the Refinery Road with aspur along NNPC Housing Road to Ekpan Roundabout, Effurun is progressing and we hope to hand it over to the state Government by April this year. But we still have some few public utilities, including an MTN mast; they should be removed for smooth operation of our work.”
