The Delta State Police Command has arrested a serial rapist in Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area.
According to a statement signed by Edafe Bright, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), one Ovie Michael, 35 years, motorcycle rider who specialises in using okada to carry young girls at night and diverting them to the bush for raping has been nabbed.
Mr.Edafe disclosed that the suspect uses okada for transport in the area adding, ,”he picks young girls at night as passengers, diverts them to the bush, robs them and forcefully have carnal knowledge of them.He also threatens them with dagger if they venture makes noise while in the act.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command spoke further, “a combined team comprising police and Army personnel swung into action and got him arrested.
Nine(9) handsets of different makes including that of his last victim who called to report to the police was recovered from him.”
He added that an Iphone valued four hundred thousand (N400,000), nine (9) female hand bags, two (2) pairs of eye glasses, five (5) phone chargers, two (2) ATM cards and thirteen (13) sim cards were recovered from him.”
