DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has urged Nigerians to have relationship with God and be humble in whatever they do.

The governor gave the advise yesterday at the service of songs organised in honour of Mrs Titi Akpami, mother-in-law of Hon. Otimeyin Adams at Sapele, Sapele local government area of Delta State.

According to him, “you can only have a glorious exit when you have a relationship with God; we should strive on daily basis to have a relationship with God because, as soon as God takes away that breath, you are ordinary sand.”

“Many times, men are proud of what they have achieved forgetting that when you are humble, you are in a position of strength,” the governor said, adding, “when you are gone, the way you lived will determine how people will relate with the family you left behind, the seed that you have sown will remain when you have gone.”

He continued, “living well is good, so, we must give our lives to God so that on the last day, we will be with God, if you confess that you are a Christian and you live a life that is unworthy, people will run away from you but, If you live a worthy life, people will emulate you.”

While condoling the family of the deceased, Governor Okowa disclosed that Hon. Adams has been his personal friend from when they were Chairmen of their different local government councils.

Ven. Clement Oburoh in a sermon, admonished Christians to always be aware that they were created to serve God and urged them to always prepare themselves to be with their creator on the last day.
