Ndokwa East Traditional Rulers Commiserate Uwa-Oma Of Okpai Kingdom Over Father’s Demise

Association of Ndokwa East Traditional Rulers on has paid a condolence visit to the Uwa-Oma of Okpai Kingdom following the demise of his father, HRM G.E. Ugbome II, a revered monarch and respected custodian of tradition.

The royal delegation, led by eminent monarchs from across Ndokwa East Local Government Area converged on the Okpai Palace to perform traditional rites and formally sympathize with the bereaved royal family in line with long-standing customs and traditions of the Association.

Welcoming the visiting monarchs, Chief Isaac Ezechi, Igwe Ne Li Ibe, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Okpai Council of Elders and the entire kingdom, appreciating the show of unity, solidarity, and respect accorded to the late monarch and his family.

In their separate remarks, the royal fathers paid glowing tributes to the late HRH G.E. Ugbome II, describing him as a peace-loving ruler, a bridge-builder among communities, and a king whose reign was marked by wisdom, humility, and commitment to the progress and development of Okpai Kingdom and Ndokwa land at large.

The emotionally charged session moved many in attendance, as reflections on the monarch’s life and legacy drew visible emotions from the gathering.

In a related development, the condolence visit coincided with a courtesy call by the newly deployed military officer in charge of SEEPCO operations across Okpai Kingdom, who came to formally introduce himself to the Uwa-Oma and seek a cordial working relationship with the traditional institution.

The military officer stated that his mission was to restore peace, maintain order, and ensure harmonious coexistence between the host communities and SEEPCO.

Responding, the Uwa-Oma of Okpai Kingdom welcomed the initiative but firmly urged the security authorities to ensure that the company fulfills all its obligations to the host communities without further delay, stressing that justice and equity remain key to sustainable peace.

The visit ended on a solemn yet dignified note, reflecting the deep cultural values, unity, and collective responsibility that define Ndokwa East traditional leadership.
