Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday, joined other dignitaries to pay tribute to the late Mrs. Cordelia Eduesi Megbele at a well-attended funeral service held at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Warri.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, described the late matriarch as a woman whose life left a lasting impact on her community and family. Mrs. Megbele was the mother-in-law of Mr. Alfred Temile.
The solemn ceremony drew members of the Delta State Executive Council, respected religious leaders, and other prominent personalities, all of whom came to celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased.
Delivering a heartfelt sermon titled “An Accomplished Life”, Rev. Tesi Uwejamomere, District Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Ubeji, reminded the congregation that true glory often comes after death.
Quoting from Matthew 5:13, Rev. Uwejamomere urged Christians to live purposefully, aligning their lives with God’s will and making a positive impact on others.
“Our journey on earth is to have a positive impact on ourselves and others, not to punish people,” he said. “An accomplished life is one that aligns with God’s purpose—focused on service, compassion, and righteous living.”
The cleric emphasized that every individual would be remembered by the legacy they leave behind, noting that the late Mrs. Megbele lived a life worthy of celebration.
“Today, mama is being celebrated. My wife and I are part of the good testimonies about her. The outpouring of tributes shows that she touched many lives and is now with the Lord,” he added.
The service was filled with reflections, songs, and heartfelt tributes from family members and friends, all attesting to the deceased’s generous spirit, deep faith, and enduring kindness.
Mrs. Megbele is survived by children, grandchildren, and relatives who continue to cherish her memory.
