Inner Wheel Club visits Warri South Council Boss

embers of District 916 International Inner Wheel Club of Nigeria on Friday visited the Warri South council chairman, Dr Michael Tidi, just as they get set to install their new district chairman, Mrs Lawrenta Oribioye on the 14th of August this year.

The incoming district chairman, IWM Lawrenta Oribioye who was accompanied by some of her members said they were at the council to intimate the chairman about their 2021 Inner Wheel programmes as well as her installation as the district chairman.

She said her installation as the new district chairman will usher in other programmes lined up for the year.

She therefore appealed for Assistant from the chairman to enable them embark on some of their projects lined up for completion.

Mrs Oribioye said some of the programmes lined up for the year include; Furnishing of a classroom in Dore Numa College,BCash gifts of 20.000 cach to 20 widows diligent, provision of 10 White boards to one primary, Skill acquisition for four girls.

Others are; Gifts of food items to a low cost community, Visit to central hospital to pay outstanding bills for patients who could not afford to pay, a Visit to prison with school materials, Provision of school materials to students, Seminar on Menstruation And Who Is A Woman in 3 Schools combine, Awareness program on drug abuse in four schools combined and Awareness on Breastfeeding and gifs item 12. Health Fair for all.

Responding, the Warri South council chairman promised to assist them in ensuring that they have a successful installation of their district chairman and other programmes.

Tidi said he was particular interested in one of their programmes tagged “who is a woman,” lamenting that a lot of girls and women have lost their self value in the society.

He stressed that there was need to reoriented the girl child on the need to be self reliance, noting that this will help the younger generation to stop depending too much on men for their daily needs.
