KOLOBIRI  STUDENTS PRESENT DOUBLE MERIT AWARDS TO DR. UGOLO

Kolobiri Students Union made up of under – graduates from various institutions of higher learning and indigenes of Toru-Orua and Bolou-Orua Communities, have presented two merit awards to the Director General of Education Inspection and Policy Services, Mr. Stella Peremoboere Ugolo for her outstanding assistance to the students.

The students said they were touched by her good will in financing union programmes and activities and the award of scholarship to six indigenes.

The students added that they have decided to give Dr. Ugolo the awards of “the most students supporting indigene” and “the matron of Kolobiri Students,” for taking a frontal role in ensuring that indigent students are well taken care of.

The president of the union, Comrade Resident E. Godspower, said Kolobiri Students are aware and proud that the sterling qualities of their prestigious mother of substance are products of hard work, zeal, tact, discipline and Godly wisdom.

He said, as Kolobiri people they are not surprised of the enviable status Dr. Peremoboere Ugolo has attained in life because she has always being known to be filled with a robust mind of philanthropy, godliness and motherly guidance to all.

In response, Dr. Ugolo wholeheartedly thanked the students for the thoughtful and kind honour bestowed on her even though she never expected them to do so.

She stressed that this is the first time she is accepting awards from the public, adding that she is accepting the awards because they are based on the fact that they clearly points to services she is both passionate about and committed to and unlike some others she had turned down because they portend more of fund raising exercises.

She said she is committed more than ever to serve the state’s education industry to promote quality education which has been her conviction for accepting the appointment that made her to obtain a leave of absence from the great University of Benin where she is a respected lecturer.

Ugolo urged the students to shun evil, negative, and unproductive vices and embrace hard work and diligence to excel in their various discipline of study so as to become  successful, responsible and competent leaders of various disciplines of study.

She also stressed that attainment of purposeful education has enable several serious minded and committed kolobiri sons and daughters to achieve meaningful success and prominences like their amiable Governor, Seriake Dickson.

Presents at the awards ceremony were Kolobiri Students Union Leaders including Godswill Oyins, Emmanuel Denis, Igoki Samuel, Moroyei Victoria and Wilson Clement, members of the Directorate including Mr. Jim-Bob Iniemienyo Mr. Ayunku Edward and others.
