Aggrieved Staff of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s Sponsored N-Power Programme in Delta State on Monday appealed to Buhari to call MTN to order for failimg to give them their approved devices.
The beneficiaries who protested at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (Warri Correspondent Chapel) said their problem started when they were directed to go to MTN office in Warri to collect their devices.
Speaking on behalf of the Aggrieved N-Power Staff during protest, Mr. Michael Savior told journalists that MTN has refused to hand over their devices to them, saying that the devices were no longer available.
The Aggrieved N-Power Staff who came under “Batch A” chanted solidarity songs matched through major streets in Warri in a peaceful protest before ending at the NUJ, said they are suspecting foil play.
The Aggrieved N-Power Staff claimed that the Alaka Branch Manager of MTN has allegedly thwarted their efforts and failed to give them attention in collecting the devices after being redirected from Asaba to the 3 Battalion Nigerian Army Barracks,Effurun,Uvwie Local Government Area.
Mr Savior added that they decide to raise alarm because they have not gotten any reliable information either from Asaba, even when the devices has been approved by the Federal Government to be distribute to them.
Savior who was flanked by Okiemute Ronuwe, Odiakaose Fidelis and others, however noted that their salaries have been coming regularly saying, “We cannot say it is a Scam but our problem is with MTN.”
All efforts to reach the Alaka Branch Manager of MTN proved abortive as calls made to his phone were not picked.
