MORGAN SMART WOMEN AND YOUTHS DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE CENTRE FOR COMMISSIONING, DEC. 5

All is now set for the commissioning of the Morgan Smart Women and Youths Development Resource Centre in Warri, Delta State. The commissioning is stated for Thursday, December 5fth 2013.

According to a press release signed by Dr. Omawumi Evelyn Urhobo, President/CEO, Morgan Smart Development Foundation, (MSDF), the Centre comprises of a HALL the “Ayirimi Emami” Hall which seats about one hundred and fifty persons, An ICT Laboratory equipped with computers and accessories, that will run training program for a minimum of 30 youths per training session, and A fully equipped Library that will include an e-library facility.

She added that the Resource Centre will be used to build the capacity of  poor and vulnerable women and youths in the Niger Delta to enable them to engage in income generating activities, build their leadership capacity and provide them with tools to engender peace in their various communities, all geared towards ensuring their meaningful contribution to sustainable development of the region.

The Resource Centre, she continued, “ is fully funded from personal funds and support from some friends of the Foundation is our modest contribution to helping to ameliorate the endemic poverty and deprivation that is prevalent amongst our poor women and youths in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.”

“Morgan Smart Development Foundation (MSDF) is a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to empowerment of rural and urban poor women especially in the Niger Delta Region for poverty reduction and employment generation, to enable them contribute meaningfully to sustainable socio-economic development of the region. The Foundation was established in the year 2002 and registered on December 17th, 2002 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja, and also registered with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, The National Planning Commission and the Delta State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Asaba,”
