Gunmen Attack Delta Lawmaker’s Wife, Kill Two Security Personnel, Driver
An attempt by suspected gunmen to abduct Mrs. Christy Uroye, wife of Delta State lawmaker Hon. Augustine Uroye, was thwarted on Monday, September 2, 2024.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on Jakpa Road in Uwvie Local Government Area.
During the attack, which targeted Mrs. Uroye as she was traveling in an SUV, her driver and two security personnel were killed.
The police confirmed that while the operation was deemed a “failure,” three AK-47 rifles were recovered from the scene.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, noted that while the incident was not classified as a kidnapping due to its unsuccessful nature, he could not immediately verify the death of the security personnel.
