A week-long free medial health care programme in Isoko South Local Government Area came to a close today at Igbide.

Our Correspondent reports that hundreds of people in the local government area turned out enmasse to benefit from the programme.

The free medical team including a heart specialist and a surgeon from India as well as a United State trained Nigerian eye specialist and other medical personnel were at Araya, Uzere, Olomoro and Igbide amongst others to deliver the free medical services.

At the various places visited by the team, members of the communities especially the aged and children trooped out in their numbers to access the free health programme.

Speaking in an interview sponsor of the programme and Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on NDDC, Mr. Ferguson Onwo said the initiative was borne out of his desire to assist people in the grassroot get medical attention.

He noted that the week-long programme has enabled them gain access to quality health care services at their door step.

Mr. Ferguson disclosed that the second phase will commence in no distant time.
