The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ughelli North Constituency I has reaffirmed its confidence in Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as the party leader in Delta State.

This declaration was made during a recent elders and leaders meeting held on Sunday at Agbarha-Otor, where party officials discussed key issues affecting the constituency.

In a statement signed by the chairman, Chief (Sir) Obiuwevbi Ominimini, Ph.D., the APC Ughelli North called on President Bola Tinubu to appoint a Presidential Liaison Officer for Delta State.

The party expressed concerns that the state government, led by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is selectively distributing federal government palliatives, leaving many APC members and Deltans uninformed about available programs.

The statement noted the need for better communication and implementation of federal programs in the state, as current efforts have not effectively reached all constituents. It emphasized the importance of an official who can oversee the fair distribution of these resources.

“The Council resolved to hold meetings with the House of Representative member representing Ughell/ Udu federal constituency and the Senator representing Delta Central.

“The forum commends the House of Assembly member representing Ughelli North Constituency 1 for his constituency outreach and empowerment of the constituents.

“The forum called on President Tinubu to appoint a Presidential liaison officer for Delta state to handle and implement Fed govt programs in Delta state as the state govt is very selective as to who benefits from the palliatives and programs from fed govt.

“All APC members in Delta state are excluded, more so Deltans do not know about the fed govt palliative programs presence in Delta state as the state govt being led by PDP claims the glory,” the statement reads.

Additionally, the forum recognized the efforts of the local House of Assembly member in reaching out to constituents and providing empowerment initiatives.

They also congratulated President Tinubu and other APC leaders for their success in the recent Edo State governorship election, praising the peaceful conduct of the electoral process.

The meeting underscored the need for unity within the party as it prepares for future challenges and opportunities in Delta State.
