The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor has reinstated his commitment towards promoting peace and unite the people of Isoko North Local Government together.

Hon Egbabor stated this during the Independence Day celebration held at the Council playground, positing that, it our individual duty to consolidate on the great legacy of our founding fathers that laboured so hard and sacrificed so much to build and bequeath to us this wonderful nation.

He commended the efforts of the various security outfits put together in combating crime in the Local government adding that, there has been steady improvement in the security situation in the Local Government Area.

The Council boss further stressed that, the conflict between herders and farmers in some communities within the local government has been addressed decisively, noting that, “We will sustain and continue to support the commendable efforts by all including the State government and our traditional and religious leaders in finding durable solution to this problem.”

Hon Egbabor also said that the State Government has opened an Internally Displaced People Camp at Alaka Grammar School Ozoro to accommodate those whose houses have been submerged by the present flood.

According to Hon Egbabor; “As a Council, we are partnering with the State Government in alleviating the suffering of our people through the running of the Camp. I therefore call on you all to assist the State Government by donating relief materials such as food to the displaced persons.”

He also urge the youths to maintain peace and order thereby uniting all together, stressing that, “In the past four years, my administration has introduced many policies and programmes targeted at youth development and youth empowerment. We will continue to support any legislation aimed at giving the youths greater say in our national politics and governance.”

Highlight of the Independence Day celebration was the presentation of school bags to every participating pupil and student who paraded during the match past.
