Moved by the un-conducive teaching and learning condition  in the only primary school in Iyede – Ame community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Ben Igbakpa , Commissioner for Transport has announced a personal donation of 100 desks and chairs to the school as well as half a million naira totalling one million, one hundred thousand naira to give a facelift to infrastructures in the school.

The premises of the primary school was the reception venue for the commissioning of the new pontoon donated by the state Government following the deplorable state of the old pontoon commissioned thirty three years ago

In spite of the resounding reception received on arrival for the ceremony, the deplorable state of infrastructure in the school caught the attention of the transport commissioner.

Like the shoeless story of the Dr Goodluck Jonathan, president, Federal Republic of Nigeria in his days in primary and secondary school, Hon. Igbakpa would want to be remembered for his personal contribution to the education of these future leaders. He assured teachers , pupils and the community of governments’ determination to right the wrongs of the past.

The announcement by Hon. Igbakpa to provide the community school with desks, chairs and five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) was received with great excitement and jubilation by members of Iyede- Ame community including the young and old.

They thanked the transport Commissioner, Hon. Igbakpa for the donation, the president General of Iyede – Ame communities federated Union, MR  Abednego Hono represented by MR Ifado and others who spoke thanked the state government and the commissioner for the intervention and appealed for provision of more basic amenities for the community.
