A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship aspirant, Dr. Esther Uduehi has promised to embark on massive infrastructural development and job creation for the teeming unemployed youths in the State, if elected Delta State Governor in 2015.

Dr. Mrs. Esther Uduehi

Addressing newsmen in Asaba, the State capital, Uduehi said she has a rich manifesto for Deltans if given the mandate, adding that she had the capacity to turn around the State for better.

She said:  “I have been tested and trusted. I am a woman of few words but many actions. I have human capital development plans for the state if the mandate is given to me. Also, there will be massive infrastructural development and total overhaul of the education and health sectors.

According to her, “Every Deltan will have free access to education at least up to the senior secondary school level.  One of the issues that is very dear to my heart is our youths and women. I see them everywhere begging and I get disturbed; I want to get them off the streets, I want them to be empowered, I want a better life for our youths.”

Aside oil, she said, Delta State is blessed with other mineral resources waiting to be tapped and I believe we can create enough jobs by citing industries in the local government areas where such resources are found.

I will embark on urban renewal and rural development. I will develop the rural areas such that a lot of people will prefer to stay in their villages instead of migrating to the urban areas.

“As a former civil servant, the civil service is going to be core to whatever I will do as a governor. I am going to reposition the civil service to be able to meet the challenges civil servants face daily,” she also said.

Continuing, she said: “we should not be talking about woman or man in this governorship race rather we should be talking about the individual the credibility; the capability, the exposure, the experience and the passion with which the candidate want to serve. I want to serve my people and I am very passionate about it.”
