Dr Mrs Ngozi Olejeme

At a meeting with PDP elders, party leaders, youths and women in Oleh and Ozoro, the Chairman, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr. Olejeme promised to design policies that will affect the lives of the people.

“I’m going to use the resources to develop Delta State. I’ll also bring smiles to the faces of the people and food to their tables.

She called on Deltans at home and abroad to give her the necessary support to enable her succeed.

“I’m in the governorship race to help the good people of Delta State. Talk to your delegates to vote for God’s choice and you’ll definitely see prosperity in the state.

“Women are good managers. They are not greedy. God has blessed me so much. I have never held any position in the state. I have not done any contract in this state. I am not looking for money. God gave me positions at the federal level. I went out to bring good things to the people of Delta State. I have provided a lot for widows and unemployed persons in the state. I also paid tuition fees for Deltans” she said.

Continuing, she said “They bombed my house as a way of scaring me from the governorship race. I’m here to stay. You shall have a say in the government of the day. Anything meant for your local government shall be released. It is no more business as usual” she promised.

The PDP Chairman, Isoko South Local Government chapter, Chief Eneruvie Odi said the most Isoko sons and daughters at home and abroad could give the NSITF chairman was their support to enable her become governor in 2015 .

“Dr. Olejeme is a shining example of humility and patience. She is a woman of impeccable character and robust conscience. We expect her to build institutions of democratic accountability,  address the developmental challenges of the area and also make Delta State better” PDP Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Area, Mr. Daniel Tutumor said.

Considering the tremendous respect which Dr. Olejeme has acquired through her years in the public service, the leaders said the decision to endorse her was based on the conviction that she would provide a good leadership and address the dearth of development projects in Isoko land if elected.

“Dr. Ngozi Olejeme shall become our next governor” the leaders said.

In another development, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants in Delta State yesterday night advised Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to desist from foisting any opportunist on the party.

Rising from a meeting in Asaba, the aspirants said they forbid any imposition, stating that PDP members in the state must be allowed their rights of choice.

“Ward congress did not hold throughout the state on Saturday. The governor called a meeting of all aspirants and announced his proposal to distribute delegate positions among them” spokesperson of the group, Dr. Tuoyo Unokesan said.

“We do not agree to the governor’s proposal. The process of producing candidates for the party in 2015 general elections must be transparent. Governor Uduaghan must follow the rules” the aspirants said.

Alleging that Governor Uduaghan wants majority of the delegates to be his loyalists, the aspirants said “Delegates must be elected from all the wards in the state to affirm the party’s candidates”

“The governor is already in control of the super delegates (elected officials) in the state. His proposal is to distribute four slots each to governorship aspirants, thereby ensuring that majority of the delegates are his loyalists and would support his anointed candidates”

Describing the proposal as a scam; the aspirants urged President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adamu Mu’azu to intervene in the matter.

They also urged Mr. President to advise Dr. Uduaghan and the Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi to conduct congresses at ward levels.

“Many of us have the political kudos, influence and patronage to win elections in the state” the aspirants said.

“Promising that the coming days will be critical for Deltans, the aspirants added “It is therefore our demand that the congress must be held in the 25 local government areas.”
