A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Olorogun Dave Okorare has predicted a bleak future for the party in the state, saying the party was thriving in use and dump syndrome.
Specifically, the party Chieftain said PDP had no chance in case of a re-run governorship election in the state.
Speaking to our Correspondents in his office in Effurun, headquarters of Uvwie Local Government Area, the former Chairmanship aspirant for Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, decried what he described as deliberate exclusion of some members of the party from benefitting from the system.
He claimed that while some members of the party were enjoying, others that toiled day and night for the victory of the party were suffering in penury.
Olorogun Okorare added that this was not good enough for PDP in the state, saying the party may pay dearly for this if there was a re-run governorship election in the state.
In his words, “The future of PDP is very bleak in Delta State as a result of the treatment being melted out to some members of the party. Some members of the party have not been treated fairly since 1998 till date and I dare say that PDP will lose Delta State in case of a re-run governorship election in the state. Those factors that have made all elections in the state to be highly and keenly contested with the opposition parties are still very prevalent.”
According to him, “The opposition parties are always boosted by aggrieved members of PDP. The selfish and non patronage treatment being given to prospective members of the party from 1998 till now just refused to go away and this is very sad. After dedicated members have worked very hard for the victory of the party, those elected do not appreciate them and instead they patronize their relations and friends with contracts and appointments.”
“Selfishness, greed and imposition are the major reasons why PDP will be defeated in Delta State in case of a re-run governorship elections,” the aggrieved PDP Chieftain said.
