The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, has congratulated Okotie-Eboh Grammar School Old Boys Association (OGSOBA), as they celebrate the 70th anniversary of Okotie-Eboh Grammar School, Sapele, Delta State.

The commissioner said this in Sapele during the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the school held at the school premises, during the weekend.

Ezewu, who was represented by the the Chief inspector of Education Sapele LGA, Mercy Omagbemi, said she was particularly pleased to note that students of Okotie -Eboh Grammar School have excelled in academics, cultural activities, sports and games and have also won various awards.

She said that the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the school was an auspicious time to reflect on the past laurels of the school as well as introspect on the plan to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

Earlier, the National President of OGSOBA, Barr. Andy Osowota, while presenting eight industrial fans and musical equipment it donated for the school to the principal, called on the Delta State Government to do more for the school.

He said, “We have been able to give the school a facelift by painting almost all the buildings and fence, renovated Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh Status and Court, renovated and provided electricity for the School Hall, painted the goal posts and purchased eight (8) industrial fans for use by staff and students.

On her part, the Principal of Okotie-Eboh Grammar School, Grace Ogbomo, said the 70th anniversary celebration of the school was a thing of joy seeing beneficiaries of the school coming back to celebrate their alma mater.

“Most of the beautiful structures we see in the school today were either provided or renovated by the Old Boys in support of the state government effort in ensuring that we have a conducive atmosphere of learning. We are indeed grateful,” she said.
