DELTA CENTRE LSD GRADUATES 76

Value Rebirth and Empowerment Iniatiative (VREI) in partnership with the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD), Delta study centre has graduated 76 students in her 2020/2021 academic session.
This was disclosed by Pastor Edewor Egedegbe, Executive Director, Value Rebirth & Empowerment Initiative (VREI) during the “4th Graduation and 5th Matriculation ceremony of Centre LSD Leadership School, Delta chapter.
The ceremony which was held at Effurun near Warri had in attendance academicians including Dr Otive Igbuzor, the Executive Director, Centre LSD.
Pastor Egedegbe said that the theme of the event, “Leadership and Effective Representation in Nigeria” was carefully chosen due to the increasing ineffective representations at various levels in the country.
Pastor Egedegbe said that the Delta study centre was established in 2017 to train and raise good leaders in the country, he added that the school was institutedd to tackle global issues on leadership relating to governance and bring true leadership to bear.
According to him, the yearly training program was offered at no cost.
The Executive Director said that the study centre had graduated 258 students since it’s establishment in 2017
Pastor Egedegbe added,, “the leadership training is conceptualised to equip prospective leaders with skills and knowledge as part of effort to address the leadership challenges in the country.”
He noted, “the idea of the Delta Leadership School study centre was borne after the realisation to take the Niger Delta region to where it ought to be. In 2018, the Centre graduated 51 students in her first graduation. In May 2019, it graduated 53 students.”
Pastor Egedegbe spoke further, “smilarly, in 2020, the Centre graduated 78 students. I am glad to announce to you that Saturday, Aug. 27, we are graduating 76 students in our 4th graduation ceremony.”
He said that the demand for leadership school admission was on the increased adding the 200 candidates applied while 150 persons were admitted into the 2021/2022 academic session.
He, however, said that it was imperative to begin to raise leaders and develop leadership skills to meet the modern realities.
The Guest Speaker, Prof. Sunny Awhefeada of the Delta University, Abraka said that Nigeria had been confronted with bad leadership.
According to him, most of the successive leaders lack ideals and vision to do the needful.
According to the University don, ” leaders at various levels put in 50 per cent of their best, Nigeria would have been a country to behold. Our polity is devoid of ideologies, lack of vision and knowledge. We must begin to re-orientate ourselves on the need to do things right.”
Prof Awhefeada urged the graduands to see themselves as crusaders and ambassadors of a better Nigeria.
In his remark, Igbuzor said that the Centre LSD has graduated over 1300 students in Nigeria since it’s establishment about 12 years ago.
Igbuzor who is also the Chief of Staff (CoS), to the Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege said that politics was very important to be left in the hands of those who cannot represent the people well.
He added, “”we want good leaders in the country. Effective leadership is key to addressing insecurity challenges.”
Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to the graduands as well as award to some distinguished alumni of the school.
