This commendation was given by Mr. Kelvin Ogbodu, Coordinator, Okowability Prosperity Network (O.P.N) in a statement made available to our correspondent,  he said that the governor has been working hard in the past eleven months to ensure that Deltans get the best.

Mr. Ogbodu who is Chief Executive Officer, Ogbodu Foundation said that in spite of dwindling revenue accruing the state occasioned by global slump in oil prices, Senator Okowa embarked on aggressive rehabilitation and construction of roads in parts of thate state to give them a facelift.

He particularly commended the governor for the rehabilitation work as well as on-going rehabilitation work on the Effurun-Eku Road and parts of Amukpe-Eku Road just as he said that the removal of the demarcation of the failed BRT Project on Effurun/Warri Road is commendable as the project was already constituting nuisance and has become death trap to road users with resultant accidents leading to deaths and destruction of cars and properties.

According to Mr. Ogbodu, “Senator Okowa no doubt meant well for Deltans as he has already commenced work on almost all failed portions of high way roads in the State. He responded promptly to dismantle the uncompleted BRT Project in Effurun/Warri when the said project was causing the people untold hardship, today the people now use the road without hassles. Same can be said of the Effurun /Eku/ Abraka/Agbor Road that was a nightmare to road users but today, parts of that road has been rehabilitated and work is currently on-going. There are other on-going rehabilitation, construction and expansion of roads in Agbor, Sapele, Owhelogbo, Warri among other towns and cities in the state.”

He also mentioned the on-going rehabilitation of the failed portions of the Federal Government owned Sapelel/Warri Expressway, one of which is near Aziza Junction by Ohore Village, Uvwie Local Government Area, another one near Okuovo, Okpe Local Government Area and yet another around Okuophori (Vitafoam village), Sapele Local Government Area.

He said, “you can imagine the traumatic experience of road users of this expressway when the road was almost impassable, but Senator Okowa responded to the yearnings of the people to mobilize contractors to effect repairs of the road to ease access for hundreds of road users.

He also promptly ordered rehabilitation of the Ughelli /Ozoro/Ellu portion of the Ughelli/Asaba Expressway for the overall benefits of the people.”
